WHAT WIRING TO ORDER:
If you are simply replacing an existing Energy Command EC-20, EC-30 or EC-30W that is already connected then no replacement wiring harness or adaptor is needed (unless the existing wiring is damaged).
If you have an existing Cummins remote panel already connected and want to replace it with an Energy Command EC-20 or EC-30 in the same location then all you would need is the 18" pigtail. The existing harness can be re-used for the Energy Command (as long as there are sufficient conductors to make all the external connections). If there are insufficient conductors to make all the Energy Command connections then order a replacement 25' harness. The 18" pigtail comes with a connector on one end that mates with the 16 pin plug on the back of the EC-30. The pigtail wires are then normally spliced to the existing wire harness after cutting off the harness plug. Or wire taps could be used.
If you have an existing Cummins remote panel already connected and want to KEEP IT operational while adding an Energy Command EC-20 or EC-30 then order a Y harness AND a 25' harness.
If your generator has NO remote panel or Energy Command panel at all and you want to add an Energy Command EC-20 or EC-30 then order the 25' harness.
